There was something new this summer in Erie. Whirlwind. We believe that when you put students, their ideas, their energy, and their voices behind exciting ideas that are important in our community, you get big results.
Whirlwind is about....
- Learning in action,
- Exploring your community,
- Discovering whatworks, and
- Telling others about it.
Check out some of the work the Whirlwind students did around the theme of food and fitness on the Student Projects page. Interested in sponsoring or participating in Whirlwind next year? Contact Bob Wooler at (814) 454-8800.
Whirlwind:
Summer
Learning in
Motion is a program that has grown out of a partnership between United Way of Erie County, The Nonprofit Partnership, ArtsErie, and Erie Day School, where the program will have its home base. The group came together over the concern that when students are not challenged, active learners over the summer months, they tend to fall back academically.
